Alt text:
Ingredients:
1 cup of milk (preferably whole)
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/3 cup chopped 70% dark chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
1. In a pot, combine milk and cinnamon stick. Heat over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until just before simmering. Remove from heat and discard cinnamon stick.
2. In a medium bowl, sift together cocoa powder, sugar, and flour. Slowly whisk while adding hot milk, doing your best not to allow lumps to form. Mix well and return mixture to the pot.
3. Whisk constantly over medium-low heat until mixture begins to bubble and thicken.
4. Whisk in chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat, and mix in vanilla. Cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy!

Censorship divides us. Join us as we continue to raise awareness of our nation’s most challenged books. An extension of Banned Books Week, which ended on September 24, this exhibit celebrates the freedom to read and draws attention to the harms of censorship.
Did you know every year the Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) compiles a list of the Top 10 Most Challenged Books in order to inform the public about censorship in libraries and schools? The lists are based on information from media stories and voluntary reports sent to OIF from communities across the U.S. The Top 10 lists are only a snapshot of book challenges. Surveys indicate that 82-97% of book challenges – documented requests to remove materials from schools or libraries – remain unreported and receive no media.
Banned Books will remain on display through fall quarter. We encourage you to visit The Nest, a new exhibit space offered as a part of the recently completed renovations at Geisel Library, and take a look.
On display until December 22nd
Geisel Library, Main Floor, East Wing.

Alt text: Every time you are physically active, whether you take a walk or play tennis, your body releases mood-boosting chemicals called endorphins. Exercising not only helps you destress, it can also protect against heart disease by lowering your blood pressure, strengthening your heart muscle, and helping you maintain a healthy weight.
