1/2 cup of softened butter
2 large cloves of minced garlic
2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning
1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a small mixing bowl, thoroughly mix the butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese.
3. Slice the French bread in half horizontally. Spread each cut side liberally with the garlic butter mixture. Lay each half cut-side up on a baking sheet.
4. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Then broil on high for 2-3 minutes, or until the outside edges of the bread are toasty and the top starts to brown. Let cool for a minute, then cut into 1-inch slices.

BANNED BOOKS EXHIBIT
Link to Library's News and Events Center

Censorship divides us. Join us as we continue to raise awareness of our nation’s most challenged books. An extension of Banned Books Week, which ended on September 24, this exhibit celebrates the freedom to read and draws attention to the harms of censorship.

Did you know every year the Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) compiles a list of the Top 10 Most Challenged Books in order to inform the public about censorship in libraries and schools? The lists are based on information from media stories and voluntary reports sent to OIF from communities across the U.S. The Top 10 lists are only a snapshot of book challenges. Surveys indicate that 82-97% of book challenges – documented requests to remove materials from schools or libraries – remain unreported and receive no media.

Banned Books will remain on display through fall quarter. We encourage you to visit The Nest, a new exhibit space offered as a part of the recently completed renovations at Geisel Library, and take a look.

On display until December 22nd
Geisel Library, Main Floor, East Wing.
